Summary: Primarily scattered years of expenditure ledgers but also a small amount of teaching certificates and other miscellaneous items concerning the Pima County School District. There are six folders of teaching certificates for a few teachers, dated 1882 to 1923; expenditure ledgers detailing salaries, equipment purchases and repairs, 1901-1916 and 1939-1953; annual reports of the Superintendent of Public Schools for Pima County, dated 1921-1933, which include pupil and teacher statistics including teacher salaries and educational training; school attendance records, 1941-1943; teacher reports, 1933-1941 which include student statistics including numbers of students by ethnic group, and teacher salary reports, 1940-1941; lists of school trustees, 1900-1909, which also gives boundaries of each school's enrollment; a 1948 petition to include Fort Lowell School in T.U.S.D. , signed by area residents. No student names or personal information is included; these materials contain only summary numbers. The schools listed in the statistics include Cortaro, Sahuarita, Zinc, Wrightstown, Catalina, San Fernando, Empire, Continental, Indian Oasis / Sells, Redington, Helton, Sopori, Soto, Three Points, Homestead, Maish Knoll, Baboquivari, Marana, Arivaca, Greaterville, Rincon, San Xavier, Sierrita, Langhorne, Flowing Wells, Fort Lowell, Amphitheater, Sunnyside, Tanque Verde, Ajo, Silverbell, Vail, Twin Buttes, Pantano, Postvale, and Tucson. Teachers represented in the teaching certificates include Mary B. Aguirre (f.1, f.2), William R. Holladay (f.1), Clara Fish (f.2), Mercedes Shibell, f.2), and Maude J. Welcome (f.3).
